Post 245: roving antelopes, painting, poem, Aleckinsky

says about Alechinsky
of his work…..
….where the interior
and the exterior collide…..

the ceremony
the pause
the void
whirl of the finger in circles
dripping in paint
before marking the brow?
the second before touching the skin?

wild drawings from God
African antelope
kudu and springbok
feeling myself
near the horn
in the hairs

“it” isn’t the lipstick
it’s the act of reaching
opening of the tube
the touching of lips

to remember the second
my five year old fingers
pushing myself in the swing
become my old hands pushing
other small children
in the life where I am now
