Post 229: Hug, touch, trees, light, love, Earth

PEOPLE HUG AND TOUCH

any chance
they get around here

sun rays
through tree limbs
voluptuous wind clouds
dispersing hawks
and vapor
into sparkling mist
settling on the sandy road
near J & J’s Auto
at 9 am

souls glowing together
as sure as I’m sitting here
watching
their black and white bodies
walking together

shoulder to shoulder
talking
laughing
step by step
on the porch
into the office
discussing brake joints
shocks
drive shafts

all the while
the wood music
around tires and rusty metal
the screen door shuts
wrens call through
sizzling pink and watermelon azaleas
dogwood blossoms
flowering your skin
in goose bumps
no way out of this beauty
but the hugging
