POST 188: commission work, New York Art Show, migration, Maine, South Carolina

by Carol Bass

I heard you
about the red and black
winter colors
we’re saving those for the bold coast
the granite and frigid North Atlantic
nights by the fire
under primitive patterned quilts
cozying down
after lobster stew or squash soup

I’m preparing those sultry colors now
shades that melt in your brain
gold green marsh
sun-struck smokey cerulean
butter yellow jasmine
sensual lavenders
kissing peach and camellia fragrance
shrimp and star dappled sunsets

No worries Dave
