Post 176: Columbines, Hummingbirds, Honeybees, lovers, Maine, South Carolina

by Carol Bass

In the Garden Voluptuous Today

Soaking, swimming in green infinity
feeling embarrassed, yes,
massive waves of procreating life

Columbines sprouting, shouting
twenty shades of salmon and violet
from granite rock cropings
nearby pink lady slippers, yellow trout lilies
Hawthorn tree white blooming
carpets of bunchberries

Hummingbirds flying
in tiny bug hatches,
honey bee colonies
circling Pagoda dogwoods

Imagine lovers in the grass
watching their movements
from behind the willow tree

Feeling limitless potential
unearthly joy
everybody apple eating,
boundless happiness of now

Yes, I managed to click the wrong button and published a not finished poem, so completely overcome with the garden.

Also wanted to say this painting and other works on exhibit at Clayton’s in Yarmouth July 14-August. Also, Marie’s workshop on the Goslings Islands beginning to fill, don’t be shy about signing up and joining us for limitless joy and creating.
