POST 159: DELTA, laughter, poem, Boulder, South Carolina, Maine, electricity, April

by Carol Bass

the laughter is so infectious
the beautiful, happy man at the Delta gate
was singing and hugging all passengers
as he checked their boarding passes
each one
and the little old lady,
how long had it been since someone had held
her with loving arms?

such laughter rippling down the line of travelers,
snickering children once again,
just as electricity
sparkles in through the wires
tinging the light bulb
