POST 133:Holy Mother, camisole, palmetto, waxing moon, dijon mustard, South Carolina

by Carol Bass

Oh Holy Mother has thumb tacked
my camisole to the grass
I am not to run to the Piggly Wiggly
for dijon mustard for the lentil salad

a show not to miss
kelabu sky (from Malay)
for blue-any-word does not capture
these heavens

without moving anything
I see the afternoon sun
waxing crescent moon
rustling palmetto tips
roving pelicans

No wonder
she kept me harpooned
to the grass
in this corner of the yard
