60″ x 60″

acrylic and alkyd on baltic birch

One of five pieces that will be ready for showing visiting patrons in mid April. I have named these after my musings about wild mountain passes in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.
When the still grayness of March clings to winter without let up, my claustrophobic state of mind,
conjures hot, open-sun spaces for signs of nourishment.
I continue the theme of paths and journeys from the tar patches in Maine to a larger awareness of my own short journey here on this land, and why?, and if? and what can I give? in this life? will I still have the energy if I find any answer?
But I know already. I give myself, and I also ask for help from my friends. Perhaps this is the knowing of March.
