MY FRIEND EVELINA
wished for a SOFA today
her voice a rich song
out to me parked in the car
at the senior center
we hurled, we threw the wish
out in the air with the birds
thousands and more
black ducks flying
more coming more coming
close to the waves
soft sofa vibrations
and bird urgings
mixing like Dolly and Miro
Evelina’s voice was God today
we talked of hope of love
and of sofas
bring us a suffa
for Evelina’s home, where
maybe, GOD can find comfort from us
I love this transformation of the event into a poem: so fine. Hope she gets that suffa soon.
