during A SOUTHERN WINTER
Mars was out at dawn today
shining on the porch
trapped in another miracle
unable to move
astonished
I closed my eyes in prayer
to the rising sun
palmetto tips
twirling in the breeze
shadowy fingers
dancing on eyelids
juicylicious!
that bluey striped swath in amongst the others. pow.
